Road View

Another view of the road..

It happened one day that I saw a snake passing this area when I was on my way to Malaing. I waited the snake disappeared and to make sure that it really gone, I threw stone to area where it appeared. When I really sure it has gone then only I continued my journey.

Another view of the long dwindling road. Dusty during the dry season and turn to slippery when it's rains..

The slippery-slope-road where you can be easily get dumped during the rainy seasons. A driver must be experienced and posses some kind of skills to confront this tricky road.

At the office..

This is my desk..

This is our humble office...full with dusts here and there. But what can you expect in an interior school with men-only teacher and with no office cleaner. When I first entered the office, I was shocked and to some extent sadden to see the office condition..Like I said it was pathetic. The picture above was taken in some years after that and the condition improved. But gradually I get used to that situation and no more complaint haha..

Luckily this year we get three female teachers...just graduated from the institut perguruan. i think they have much more idea to improve our office. We will see this afterwards.

Me and my students...

I started teaching in the year 2005 about five years ago. The school that I was placed till now is SK. Malaing, a school in the interior and about 2 hours and a half away from Keningau town. When I was first heard the name, I was startled because I never heard the name before. Where on earth this place is situated. Then I find information from people around me. Luckily, one of my brother knew this place because he used to work in a timber company at Bonor in the 80s. Kg. Bonor is one of the nearest village to this place.

My brother also knew the headmaster of this school because his wife is a teacher at SMK. Keningau II, a secondary school near my kampung. My brother brought me to his house to get introduced with him. It seems that my brother knew him quite well.

I don't quite sure when did I first came to Malaing. I think it's 26 January 2005. I found that the school was not as the 'heads' describe to me. I thought that it was too 'rural' but in vain I found 2 units of house made from bricks! Haha...that was not a rural at all.
